A beautiful day at the dog park today — warm and sunny, with a slight breeze.

Kai is posing with the Bay Bridge, Yerba Buena Island, and the San Francisco skyline in the background. The thing that looks a bit like a windmill just to the left of Yerba Buena Island is the tower for the new Bay Bridge, still under construction.

And that’s just the beginning. Kai is going to be a therapy dog. We’re working with Therapy Pets (http://therapypets.org) to become a therapy team. So far we’ve been to an orientation session and a visit to a nursing home. At the nursing home we were evaluated by an experienced volunteer from Therapy Pets, and of course Kai was perfect. We have one more evaluation scheduled — a visit to a hospital on January 8 — and then we’re ready to visit on our own.
