Making pasta with the used Cuisinart that Arlin just bought for the summer kitchen.

Today was lemon harvest at Dragonfly Ranch. Our little tree on the kitchen patio produced 246.5 Meyer lemons.
Here’s Betsy and the basket she picked. Arlin’s basket is the one to the left.

The summer kitchen is perfect for processing the lemons. The assembly line started with taking some of the zest before slicing; then the slicing; and then the juicing on the Ankersrum Assistent with the juicing attachment.
The juice is frozen in small portions for use in recipes or beverages. Here, Betsy fills a mini muffin tin with juice for individual ice chunks to add to water or other beverages when the summer temperatures call for a refreshing lemonade.

Went to Prairie Home Companion in the city with Arlin and some of the church folks. Pre-show we had lunch. Can’t remember the lunch too much, but the mud pie and the sundae? Oh, yeah.

Brand new 2016 model. Almost as big as Betsy’s Dodge Caravan!

The last time l bought a car was 2001, and the previous time was 1985, so it was time again. More importantly, the Outback has a lot of newfangled safety features, like the ability to tell you if you’re wandering across a lane marking, and cruise control that won’t let you get too close to the car ahead of you. Us aging drivers need all the help we can get.
