Weathercam
The weather station was installed three years ago this week. I took that excuse to install a webcam that can be viewed on the Weather Underground site for the weather station.
This link goes directly to the webcam:
https://www.wunderground.com/webcams/BufordRanch/1/show.html
And this is the link to the main page:
https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KCACOARS15
The view may be erratic for a while, since I’m working out network issues and haven’t determined the final installation site.
The camera isn’t in the weather station, and doesn’t show the weather station (unless we finally install it in a place where it does). It’s actually completely independent of the station; but Weather Underground makes it convenient to display the camera’s output along with the data from the station. It’s not a live stream, but it updates every two minutes when things are working properly.

Final on Detwiler Fire
Bless Our Second Amendment Rights
The Detwiler Fire, a raging blaze that forced thousands to evacuate and destroyed 63 homes in Mariposa County, was caused by firearm discharge on public lands, Cal Fire investigators said in a release Friday evening.

Detwiler Fire Update
The Detwiler Fire is currently at 82,000 acres and 85% contained. There is one remaining evacuation advisory in the northern part of Mariposa County, and two shelters remain open (Sonora and Mariposa). Still waiting to hear the best way to help those 70 or so families who lost their houses.
We’ve been so focussed on this fire that we have not paid attention to those in Montana. Hope you can still breathe ok Caryn and Brendan.

New Chair
Phil and Arlin got me a new chair for my birthday. They swear this one will help my comfort and healing as I continue to do battle with sciatica. Now I can fall asleep in my chair like the rest of the family!

Detwiler Fire Update
The fire is now at 81,000 acres and 70% contained. Most folks have been allowed to go back home and the shelters in Oakhurst have been closed. Much of this previously evacuated area remains under evacuation advisory, however, which basically means pay attention and a smaller area in the north of the fire remains evacuated. I am so proud of the firefighters and the highway patrol and all the other organizations and individuals who pitched in to help.

Swim Gloves
Arlin got swim gloves for his birthday. He tried them out yesterday in the pool yesterday and says they do indeed provide enough resistance for a good workout.
