Kai turned ten on August 3, about one year and one week after his surgery. It’s taken all this time for him to recover fully, but he’s now pretty much back to his old self. Rimadyl has helped his arthritis, and salmon oil has helped restore his coat. He was pronounced still cancer-free at his last quarterly checkup on August 9.
He and Chester had a knock-down drag-out wrestling match this evening, more strenuous than anything I’ve seen them do together for a year and a half.
We haven’t visited Kaiser together for a month — Kai abraded his foot, and then I came down with sniffles — but we’re starting again tomorrow.

Wonderful to behold! Rubs to all and have fun at Kaiser.
